As with the Foundation course, it is not limited to any specific design discipline, but looks at the fundamentals of drawing in 3D whether that be a pergola, a tensile fabric structure or piece of furniture. Find out which tools are already in 3D without you knowing it, and find out how to model those extra things you need for your design. We will also look at a basic introduction to rendering 3D drawings (without the use of Renderworks). (Garden Designers and Architects please note that this course does not cover terrain modelling as there is just too much to cover in one day in a group session).

Dates tbc. Terrain Modelling for Landscape Designers and Architects
You might be forgiven for thinking that terrain modelling in Vectorworks is a bit of a black art. But this course will demystify the process. Learn how to use your own survey data or that of a professional surveyor to create a model of the existing terrain. Then, learn how to impose your design onto the model and gain accurate cut and fill information from the model. An understanding of the Vectorworks 3D environment is essential before attending this course.

Dates tbc Masterclass: Surveying and Vectorworks with Ian Humby &
Tamsin Slatter

Painshill Park, Surrey, further dates to be arranged
This new two day masterclass is aimed at existing Vectorworks users who want to hone their skills in surveying and drawing up surveys in Vectorworks. You will need to bring along your own laptops, loaded with Vectorworks. It doesn't really matter which version you have for this class.

Day One: The theory of taking an effective survey, with both classroom instruction from Ian Humby and a practical measuring session in the afternoon.
Day Two: Classroom-based with students learning how to get all of that information into Vectorworks and built a simple model of the terrain. It is essential that attendees have experience of using Vectorworks prior to attending the course as there will not be time to cover basic drawing and navigation. We will compare drawing the survey with importing Ian's survey of the same area and compare the quality of data achieved by each method.

Cost: £285 plus VATincludes a lunch of hot soup and rolls on both days. Tea and Coffee is also available during morning and afternoon breaks. Days run from 9.30am and will finish promptly at 4.30pm. Don't forget to wear warm and weatherproof clothes as you will be outside on day one! Click here to register for this event.
